Twin Falls, Idaho – An escaped inmate and his alleged accomplice, both suspected members of a white supremacist gang, were apprehended in Twin Falls after a large-scale manhunt. Skylar Meade had escaped from a medical facility in Boise, while Nicholas Umphenour reportedly fired shots at corrections officers during the escape.
The suspects were located in Twin Falls following a brief vehicle pursuit, with no shots fired during the arrest. Authorities are investigating a possible connection between the suspects and two homicides in Idaho. They were found driving a Honda Civic that belonged to one of the victims.
Both Meade and Umphenour are linked to the white supremacist group Aryan Knights and had ties to the Idaho Maximum Security Institution. However, officials do not believe the escape was authorized by the gang.
The successful capture was made possible by tips from the public and the collaboration of multiple law enforcement agencies. The correction officers who were shot during the escape are currently in stable condition, with one already discharged from the hospital and two still receiving treatment.
The Twin Falls community is relieved that the dangerous suspects are now in custody. Heartland Magazine will continue to follow the developments in this case and provide further updates as they become available.
