Apple’s Highly Anticipated Virtual and Augmented Reality Headset Set to Launch in China
Heartland Magazine – Apple’s latest technological innovation, the Vision Pro virtual and augmented reality headset, made its debut in the U.S. in February with a starting price of $3,500. The company’s CEO, Tim Cook, has confirmed in a video on Chinese social media site Weibo that the headset will soon be launching in China later this year.
With the launch in China, Apple will be competing with local headset players such as Pico, owned by ByteDance, the parent company of popular app TikTok. Despite facing strong competition, Cook remains optimistic about Apple’s success in the Chinese market.
Cook recently visited China, where he toured a new Apple store in Shanghai and took part in the China Development Forum in Beijing. This visit comes after Apple experienced a nearly 13% decline in sales in the greater China region in the December quarter, attributed to consumer caution and competition from local tech giant Huawei.
Despite these challenges, Cook reiterated Apple’s commitment to the Chinese market, expressing confidence in the country’s potential for growth and success. With the upcoming launch of the Vision Pro headset in China, Apple is poised to make its mark in the rapidly expanding market for virtual and augmented reality technology. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development from Apple.
