The much-anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) crossover has finally arrived in the popular online game Fortnite, but it seems that not all fans are happy with the pricing strategy in the game’s Item Shop.
In the latest update, players can now embark on new quests and unlock exclusive TMNT-themed cosmetics. However, it is the pricing of these items that has sparked anger among the fanbase.
One of the main concerns revolves around the Master Splinter skin, which is available for purchase at a hefty cost of 1500 V-Bucks. However, players who shell out the V-Bucks for this skin only receive the skin itself, a LEGO variant, and a Back Bling. To acquire the staff wielded by Master Splinter, players must fork over an additional 800 V-Bucks since there is no bundle option available.
Fans argue that this pricing strategy is unreasonable when compared to other bundles and items available in the game. The cost for the Master Splinter skin alone has left many feeling shortchanged, especially when considering the lack of additional features or accessories.
Some players have even suggested using alternative items in an attempt to maintain lore accuracy. For instance, they recommend using Mikey’s nunchucks with the Splinter skin as a way to compensate for the absence of the staff.
Another point of contention lies with the TMNT Instrument Bundle, which comes with a staggering price tag of 3000 V-Bucks. Fans find this cost to be exorbitant, particularly because it is for a music set. It is worth noting that players have compared this pricing to that of similar items in the game, such as wraps, and have found the TMNT Instrument Bundle to be disproportionately expensive.
It is not just the TMNT crossover that has received criticism regarding pricing. Rocket Racing, a recent addition to Fortnite, has also faced backlash for launching $40 car skins with the mode. Many players consider this pricing to be exorbitant, as they believe it does not align with the value provided by the skins.
As fans continue to voice their discontent over the pricing strategy in Fortnite, it remains to be seen whether the developers will address these concerns or make adjustments to ensure a more satisfactory experience for their dedicated player base.
