Tiffany Gomas, also known as the “crazy plane lady,” is making efforts to rebrand herself after her notorious meltdown on an American Airlines flight. Following the incident, Gomas deleted her social media accounts but has recently launched a new website and reactivated her online presence.
On her website, Gomas has shared a two-minute video apology where she addresses her behavior on the flight and promises to promote positive mental health and stand up against cyberbullying. While it remains unclear what exactly she has planned, her social media activity suggests a focus on mental health and anti-bullying efforts. Gomas is following 16 carefully selected accounts on Twitter, including podcasters, mental health organizations, and media outlets.
In her apology video, Gomas takes full responsibility for her actions and expresses regret for her behavior on July 2. She specifically apologizes to everyone on the plane, especially those with children. Gomas hopes to use this experience to make a positive difference in the world and asks for acceptance of her apology.
Gomas has announced her return to Instagram, YouTube, and the platform formerly known as Twitter. In her first interview with the Daily Mail, she expressed frustration about her life being “blown up” since the incident and urged the public not to pass judgment. Gomas also stated that she is consulting a lawyer, claiming that much of the reported story about her is inaccurate.
The infamous viral video captures Gomas declaring that she is getting off the flight because “that motherfโer back there is not real” before being escorted off by cabin crew. This outburst came after a dispute with a relative, where she accused them of stealing her AirPods. As a result of Gomas’ conduct, passengers were forced to deboard the flight, causing a delay of at least three hours.
Although Gomas was issued a warrant for criminal trespass, she was not arrested or charged. With her rebranding efforts, Gomas aims to move past the incident and redirect her focus towards mental health advocacy and combating cyberbullying.
