Kevin Bacon returned to the Utah high school where the iconic movie “Footloose” was filmed, fulfilling a promise that was sparked by a social media campaign by the school. Payson High School students recreated scenes from the movie and choreographed videos in an effort to catch the actor’s attention.
The visit was particularly special as Payson High School is set to relocate at the end of the school year. Bacon thanked the students for their commitment and dedication, and in return, the school pledged to create essential resource kits for Bacon’s Sixdegrees.org foundation.
The foundation aims to pack and distribute 40,000 kits as part of the “Footloose40” initiative. During his visit, Bacon was awarded an honorary Payson High School diploma and even took the time to pose for photos with students and visit his locker at the school.
“Footloose,” released in 1984, has remained popular even after 40 years, with its iconic prom scene still resonating with audiences. The visit was a meaningful moment for both Bacon and the students of Payson High School, who were proud to have the actor back at the place where the classic movie was filmed.
