Skygazers in California were left mesmerized as bright fiery lights streaked across the night sky recently. A video captured mysterious golden objects shooting across the sky in a straight line, leaving onlookers puzzled.
Some witnesses believed it was a meteor shower, while others suspected it could be debris from either the SpaceX Falcon 9 launch or the Chinese Shenzhou 15 Orbital Module. However, the fiery shower appeared to dissipate and die off in the video, adding to the mystery.
Both SpaceX and NASA did not respond to requests for comment on the unusual sighting. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) also had no reports of unusual aircraft activity in the area.
Astrophysicist Jonathan McDowell weighed in on the phenomenon, stating that the debris was likely from the Chinese orbital module rather than the SpaceX Falcon 9. The Chinese module was launched in November 2022 to the Tiangong space station.
Considering that SpaceX hardware landed safely after its launch, it seems unlikely that it was the source of the fiery fireballs blazing across the California sky. As the speculation continues, skywatchers are left to wonder about the true origin of the spectacular light show they witnessed.
