Fortnite fans around the world were left disappointed as Epic Games announced a delay in the start of Chapter 5 Season 2 of the popular game. The unexpected issue, which occurred during maintenance, forced the downtime to be extended by at least 8 hours.
Players were informed that they would need to pre-download an updated version of v29.00 before being able to jump into the new season. This meant that Fortnite would have been offline for around 18 hours, much to the frustration of eager gamers.
