President Bola Tinubu Announces Ministerial Nominees for All States
In a move that has sparked much anticipation and speculation, President Bola Tinubu has finally announced his list of ministerial nominees for all the states of the country. The list, which includes a total of 47 nominees, aims to ensure balanced representation and effective governance across the nation.
Interestingly, the South-East zone has been granted the fewest slots, with only five nominees. This has sparked concerns among members of the zone, as it means that there will not be a mandatory zonal nominee. The South-South zone fares slightly better, with seven nominees, but still falls short in comparison to other regions.
On the other hand, the North-West zone has emerged as the winner in terms of representation, with an impressive ten nominees. Following closely behind is the South-West zone, which boasts nine nominees. Meanwhile, the North-East and North-Central zones have both been allocated eight nominees each. Overall, the North has a total of 26 nominees, while the South has 21.
Some of the standout nominees from the North-West include Ahmed Tijani Gwarzo from Kano, Maryam Shetty from Kano, and Yusuf Tanko Sununu from Kebbi. In the South-West, notable names on the list include Bosun Tijani from Ogun, Isiak Salako from Lagos, and Adegboyega Oyetola from Osun.
The North-East nominees include Ibrahim Geidam from Yobe, Simon Lalong from Plateau, and Professor Tahir Mamman from Adamawa. In the North-Central zone, representatives include Shuaibu Abubakar Audu from Kogi, Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi from Niger, and Uba Maigari Ahmadu from Taraba.
Not to be left out, the South-South zone puts forward prominent figures such as Heineken Lokpobiri from Bayelsa, Abubakar Momoh from Edo, and Betta Edu from Cross River. Finally, the South-East zone, despite having the fewest slots, highlights individuals such as Uche Nnaji from Enugu, Doris Uzoka from Imo, and David Umahi from Ebonyi.
The announcement of these ministerial nominees is expected to spark further debate and discussion, as each region evaluates the representation it has received. The President’s decision to ensure fair representation across the country demonstrates a commitment to inclusivity and unity. As the nominees await confirmation by the Senate, the nation eagerly anticipates the direction these individuals will take to shape the future of Nigeria.
